A New Strategy

The 5th largest country in Africa, Chad has suffered a polio outbreak since late 2003. The polio virus continued to circulate despite numerous nation-wide vaccinations campaigns. In the first half of 2010, the successful implementation of a new strategy in two pilot regions of the country recorded improved Polio immunization with a remarkable increase in vaccinated children. A comprehensive guide was drawn-up to improve the implementation of Polio vaccination and coverage activities.
